Has anyone ever tried to make their own?

The specs are:
3/8" outer diameter
1/8" wall thickness
23-25" long
Flarred at one end

I am trying to find a piece of hard copper pipe to make one myself before spending the $60 Evinrude wants.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Never needed to try and make one, but I would think it should be doable, try it and let us know how it works.

After a few days of searching for this tube, I contacted Copper.org, the gods of copper! They told me that it was not any type of tube they have seen for water or anyt type of refrigeration. After hearing this, I bit the bullet and bought the 23" tube for $65.80 from my evinrude dealer. They said it was a specialty part.

3/8" L copper tube would have done it. It's not hard, but bendable. However, you can't flare hard copper. Would have been fine, in fact I think I still have most of a 100' coil from a HVAC repair a long time ago.
