I heard on the radio this morning that as little as 6% of Americans will attend or observe a commemoration tomorrow.
My first response was that 9/11 should be made a Federal Holiday to remind the country that we are the target of many hateful peoples.
But then I began to compare the 9/11 event to the First and Second World Wars and wondered if it was a significant enough event to get a holiday like Memorial day.
After thinking about this for a few hours while stuck in a huge traffic jam, I decided that 9/11 events were worthy of a Federal Holiday to commemorate and memorialize the attack on this country and the resulting loss of innocent lives.
Your thoughts?
