I have a 9.5 sports twin which someone has removed the serial number plate to paint and did not replace it. I have no serial number. Will a 582995 part number coil work. I guess I am asking what coils are interchangeable in the 9.5's. Is there any identification numbers on the coil itself.

I had it in the tank and running. Won't stay running. Pulled flywheel. Coils are junk. Going to install coils and clean and set points...lol and start again

good info

condensers probably no good also ..they may test ok with a ohm meter but fail in running mode.

Q I guess I am asking what coils are interchangeable in the 9.5's.

coils are everywhere and from everywhere . China coils are known to have cause grief but.....I have installed several . OEM coils may be better if not made in China these days

check transport delays and hidden shipping $$ ...some take weeks to arrive
Amazon Prime stuff is usually faster but more $$

Sounds like motor did not get used for many years ( cracked coils ) and you would be wise to install a new water pump impeller.
