9.8 Carb wmb-1

I guess my question is so common that the search wont produce any results. I need a carb kit for my 9.8 hp motor its a 1984 with a wmb-1 . Does anyone got a part number for this? I dont know why its so hard to find parts for this. This is my first merc and may be my last if something as simple as a carb kit is this hard to come by.

Mercury Parts, 7.5 /9.8 H.P.

See 27-89014A80 | GASKET/SEAL SET under CARBURETOR AND CHOKE ASSEMBLY which is for a 1364-8782A13 carb.

If you look under CARBURETOR ASSEMBLY (MERC 9.8)(WALBRO STAMPED WMB-1 OR WMB-3, lo and behold you see that it is a 1364-8782A13 carb.

I googled that part number since the Crowley site shows that to be $112 The part number brings up a motor overhaul kit. I then came across the Sierra catalog and they dont carry a gasket kit for the wmb-1 or 3. Are the Walbro carbs less popular or desirable over the Tillotson carbs? I just dont understand why you can find a kit with a new float-needle and seat-springs and gaskets for a complete carb rebuild.

Here on Iboats outboard parts look for Mallory Carb Kit 9-37304 and the float will need to be ordered seperate. Less than $65 for kits, or Check on Ebay for one on there. The kit will work on several other motors as well. A call to Crowelly Marine PH#303-355-5555 will get the job done also. JMO
