I can't think of anything else except I have coils that wont fire under compression. I'm pretty sure that merc part 802371A1 is no longer available, and Sierra and Old Mercs are a little confusing in their replacement part numbers. Some claim 18-5178 is the replacement, some claim 18-5181 is.
I'm in Ontario and parts are friggin expensive here. I dont' need to be ordering
stuff I can't return. I paid $100 for points and condensers worth $10
5181 looks closest, but is the wrong color and the spark plug wire needs to point to the rear of the coil not out the side like the picture shows. A little help here? Laddies? are you reading this?
