9.8hp into 7.5hp cowl help

Hi I have been offered a 9.8 mercury with a broken tiller arm (broke on the cowling area) would the 9.8hp fit into a 7.5hp I have without any mods and could I then keep the 7.5hp for spaers, they are bouth long shaft

Thank you, I have just had a look and should be abel to swap tiller from 7.5 to 9.8
