What kind of reeds. I have boyesens in my 25 hp merc with close to 1000 hrs no problems. Is this your 76 motor that you modified the intake on

250 hrs on glass reeds is pretty good, most don't last that long. At least when they disintegrate they usually don't cause any damage to the engine

Just what are you sayin...

Yea, added that passage the 93 and above have. I did notice the reeds had very little overlap and that voice in my head said ohoh...

CC reeds by the way. How do you like the boyesens..They seem to have much more overlap. I've got to replace them this winter. I bought the motor in a box cause one reed broke off and you know what happened. My 18ft conoe/f2.5 yami will have to do until spring..

Oh..never had a lean crankcase explosion either.

I like the boyesens very much. The 25 hp merc is much harder on reeds than your 15 hp evinrude and they have held up very well. But set-up is critical on them they are more susceptible to being destroyed by a lean sneeze than other reeds.
