I think I may have put the impeller in backwards.
I have a 9.9 evinrude dated 1974. It was only used 3 years then fogged and stored. Restarted once in a while just to re-fog it.
It ran great last year. I just changed the impeller because it was cracked when I inspected it. I lost track of the way the other one was installed because I was interrupted.
I may have put the new one in backwards. When I started the motor in a drum, it was pumping water out the weep hole when cold. Then as it warmed up the water flow from the hole quit but I could see exhaust pulses from the weep hole.
Does this sound like the impeller was backwards and has broken again?
