9.9 evinrude manual?

new to boating, bought pontoon with 9.9 evinrude 2 stroke, just would like to download a service manual so i know a little about it, seem to be having charging problems, installed sonar and cd player and battery went dead over weekend, pull started it seems ok now, also when idling or even mid steady speed it isnt running evenly, it will pick up a little back n forth, is there a reccommended fuel additive maybe new plugs?

Try CDI Electronics.com for charging system probs. If the mtr has a charging system on it.

i been told they have a rectifier will charge regular battery, but wont charge a deep cycle, it must charge because it went dead fishing with radio and sonar on, then i rope started it ran a while all works again?

The output would be so minimal it would take a weeks running to recharge to 100% both batteries. Maybe even longer. No online manuals although lots of good information on this site. http://www.sschapterpsa.com/ramblings/Ramblings.html Best f luck. Rick.

You don't mention whether the 9.9 is your only power on the pontoon or the year of it (possible different electronics). If the rectifier is working & charging, these motors have a very low charging system as compared to the newer motors of the same size. You may have enough in the battery to keep going for a week-end using sonar only, but add the CD player, yes I can see why the battery died.

However if the rectifier (the round unit the size of a 1/2 dollar on the RH rear side of the block with wires leading to the junction block) is bad, this is what converts power from the electronics under the flywheel to usable 12 volt to charge the battery. Then your battery will be on it's own with no, or even minimal recharge from the motor.

yes its the only power on boat 1 battery, all seems goos of motor running, but if i stop fish with cd player on it will kill battery, then pull start motor and im good for while, what is recommended for this? take battery home everyday and recharge?

If it does have a charging system it's only 4 amp. If you want to run all the items off this battery that you do, you may want to get a dual purpose deep cycle battery or else charge it every night.
