I have a 1981 9.9 hp Johnson sailmaster that is getting no spark from either cylinder. I disconnected the kill switch to ensure that wasnt the problem. What is my next step in troubleshooting?
Ok so I'm pretty good around motors and such but have never had a problem past the coils. Which two brown wires am i checking? I have the correct multimeter
Check between the 2 brown wires to see if you have resistance in the stator with a ohm meter. If u do probably the power pack
Can someone explain this a little better for me? I check between the brown wires what type of reading should i get? I'm assuming my multimeter will read a 0 or a 1 if I have a bad stator?
