9.9 Johnson not coming up to speed

Hello folks,

I have a 1988 9.9 short shaft Johnson that isnt coming up to speed. The motor starts fine and idles fine. When I go to get on the throttle the motor sounds like it will do fine then bogs down and will go no faster. I dont seem to be running enough RPS. The motor is on a 15'4 Gheenoe highsider and it should plane the boat off fine and run around 15 mph. It wont plane the boat and it isnt running fast at all.

check spark on both cylinders, if both are good, time to clean and rebuild the carb. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=244013
