diagrams here, lower unit, exhaust housing. looks like a straight forward drop. should be a 1"x2" plate of the side on the leg, remove cover, remove the bottom screw, don't drop. then remove the bolts that hold the lower unit, should drop right out. besure to realign everything, and just the reverse.

when reattaching the shift linkage the screw has to got thru the indentation.

If you look in the Engine Frequently Asked Questions forum and scroll down to "9.9/15 hp OMC engines by the Machinist" posted in Feb. '06 you can find a ton of info on your motor and instructions on how to change the impeller. The Machinists site is really great for a guy who is new to working on or operating these motors. Good luck.

The FAQs that jbehr refers to are not the forum FAQs which are probably what you found but the "engine FAQs". Go to the "repair and maintenance " index, the Engine FAQs are the first item on there, go to those and scroll down until you come to the post on OMC 9.9s.

If you still cant find it then its http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=158087

Also useful are the engine diagrams at http://epc.brp.com/default.aspx?brands=ej&lang=e I think Tashasdaddy meant to put that in his post. Bu??ered if I know what is picture shows though

Any part of the cooling system can block. The channels around the head seem particularly vulnerable but it should not be a problem with only a few hours use.

I think you will find that the three pin connector is an AC output for lighting. I guess your engine does not have a rectifier for battery charging. Only fitted as standard on electric start models.
If I am right you can connect 12volt lights up to 30watts between the yellow/grey wire and the yellow wire and another 30watts between the yellow grey and the yellow/blue.

Sorry i don't know the pin layout on the connector. You should be able to buy a plug to fit it.

oil leakingout behind prop is this an oil seal problem
Yes it is the seals on the prop shaft. You need two seals but note carefully which way round they are fitted (one keeps the oil in and the other keeps the water out) and an O ring for the housing.

You'll see the parts on the parts diagram in the BRP Parts catalogue
