1988 thompson 240 mercruiser 5.0lx i/o with alpha 1 gen 1 outdrive ,just put 9.9 mercury kicker motor with panther bracket on ,and have several questions ,First ,hooking up fuel line for kicker ,i am running the fuel line through the i/o water seperator from inboard motor and using the second fuel exit hole ,question will i need to put a fuel shut off valve on each fuel line so when not in use it doesn't effect the other motor from bogging or stalling any one have experience with this set up
next question ,when trolling with your kicker motor do you keep the trim with i/o up a little to get into even shallower water? or down all the time while trolling?
i have the 16 inch heavy duty panther kicker bracket on aft of boat ,marine tech or garelick all say ,not recommend travel with kicker motor attached ,i know its a liability issue ,but does anybody travel with kicker attached or do they pull off to travel and put on when at boat ramp?
