Need help with year and any info you might know about this motor. Also looking for a new prop, the blades are chipped and not sure what to even order cause not sure of the year or open to suggestions. Thanks for all your help.

Thanks! When order parts is it a Mercury Mariner? Why I ask is I saw a Yamaha logo cast inside. Its a bit confusing. Looking to buy a prop for it also. Thanks again!

It's a Mercury Mariner built in Japan by Yamaha (at the time under contract/partnership with Mercury).

Parts should be available through your local Mercury dealer.

If with no prop info stamped on prop body or blade, take it to a prop shop and have it measured, buy same new. Should be a medium pitched prop factory dellivered with said motor.

The prop has 9 1/4 X 9-J stamped on it... Meaning? Been reading about pitch? Any recomendations? Thanks guys!

If the prop you have was adequate, get another 9 1/4" x 9 pitch prop.

I'm seeing 9 1/2 on the web. Anything major would change if I went to a 9 1/2 instead of 9 1/4?
