9.9 Model/Year confirmation

Hello everyone,

New to the iBoats forum and Ijust picked up a 9.9 Johnson seahorse motor. I did some searching and from what I can find, my motor is an 95 but perhaps because it's Canadian the numbers were a bit harder to search for info.

The model on the tag is CJ10RCOM

Can any guru confirm it's an 85 ? Id like to get a service manual for it and make sure I am buying the right parts for it! hehe

I got it free from a family member who says it's been sitting for awhile so I hope it runs

Yes, it's an '85.

Make sure you get the Service Manual, not the Owner's Manual, which is pretty useless.

Definitely need a service manual. I have them for all my Jeeps. hehe

I think it's been sitting for a good number of years, it was my uncle's who is no longer with us, but I wouldn't mind seeing if it will at least start. Trying to find a 55gal barrel to fill with water to test it, also a gas tank.

my buddy has an old OMC 6gal for free, so I should be good to go soon. hehe

and one last thing, it's 50:1 for the fuel mix correct? Even though it says 100:1 (I read there was a TSB that changed it)
