Hi I purchased from a neighbor, a nice looking Yamaha 9.9 longshaft 1992 model. The motor stat for 7 years and was locked up. After using a can or kroil and three days of soaking. I have broke the power head loose and got it to turn, but it is stiff. Hopefully the penetrating oil will loosen it up with time. Should I spin the motor to help this? The lower unit is frozen to the power head, but works. After cleaning the carburetor I will attempt to start it. Any suggestions to aid me in this? Thanks.....Robert

rust in cylinders and the crank and bearings means it will not run for long if you do get it going without taking apart and inspecting and fixing all that is found

I pulled the reed cage out and had a look at the crank. No rust and the motor turned fine. reinstalled everything(after cleaning the carb) and the motor is running fine......Robert
