So a little history....Ok so I got my boat out of storage (after 9 years) a few weeks ago and started to do some work on it. Its has an OMC 120HP I-4 in it. I had to redo all the wiring in the engine compartment which went fine. I pumped and flushed out the fuel tank. Rebuilt the carbs and replaced all the fuel lines, fuel filter, installed a new electric fuel pump, and a fuel water separator. I replaced the points, condenser, rotor, cap, wires, and plugs. Went and got 10 gallons of super last night and a bottle of carb cleaner (just for extra measure) and started her up. And yes I hooked the hose up to her first. She ran really good after all this time. But after starting it up off and on while making adjustments the overheat light came on. So I did some checking today removing hose and pressurizing various hoses and came up with nothing. I do know that the water pump on the engine appears to be working. The cooling hose at the rear of the engine going to the exhaust manifold was cold. So I'm thinking its the lower water pump. I have been reading the different posts all day and was wondering if anyone else has changed that pump before. How much of a pain is it. I am changing the intake/exhaust gaskets as well as the valve cover gaskets this coming week so is there anything else that might be good to do. I have already downloaded the manual for my engine/drive and read it over. Sounds like a pain to change myself but of the repair shops around here none of them want to work on it.... Sorry for the long post but lots of info to give.... Thanks

So now I am wondering if I am posting my questions wrong. This is my third time posting a question in the last month and yet nobody ever seems to have any ideas. Hmmmm....

It's called information overload. So much that's it's hard to figure out what your problem actually is.
Sounds like an overheat problem. The FIRST thing you check with an overheat problem with an IO is the impeller. After setting for 9 years, you probably need one. If you don't have an OEM manual, get one before you start.

I thought the more info the better... Figured it saved on alot of questions.... I just wanted to know in addition to the impeller is their anyting else I should check/change... I read one post that said something about exhaust baffles or something along those lines...
