90 Evinrude 115 powerpack

Has anyone ever seen a powerpack that would only send power to 3 out of 4 coils? Every bad pack I have ever noticed wouldnt fire any of the coils.

ive seen two and both weren't firing #4

Switch the coil with a good cylinder once and see what happens. Also a Model# would Help!!

I have swapped the other 3 to this position and none will fire. it is the top port cylinder have also swapped plugs as well. J115TSLEUA

Read post# 2 again and check with them. I'd have to guess a bad power pack. JMHO.

Well first your motor is a 97 model and has the single pack. These are very bad about dropping cylinders due to being damaged by inductive kick back from coil to switchbox. Replace the wires with the new grey suppressive wires(CDI) and replace thatt coil on that cylinder if you remember which one it is.

yes I had a bad coil,that messed up a powerpack ,would only fire on 3 cyl.s,,,,replaced all 4 coils and a new powerpack
