Well, I have another question. This time it's on my 25 hp Evinrude, modle E25TELESB serial R 08559112. It feels as if it is not giving all that it can. I did find the timing was not advancing fully to the stop at wide open. It was staying about a half inch away. I fixed that. I have not had it on the water to test it since. Would that be enough to make a big difference? The motor is mounted on a 16' Lund Adventurer. The prop is a 10x15. It gets out of the hole good, and goes on plane ok. We were blown out of the water by other similar sized boats with same hp as ours. Our boat is heavier, but I couldn't believe the difference. Does this motor have points to change and reset the timing? It seems to run really good overall, just seems to lack power. Thanks a lot!

You got the advance to the stop, that's all you can do. Make sure the carb throttle plate goes wide open. Don't try messing with full timing advance without a manual and proper specs. You can destroy you motor with too much timing advance.
