90 Honda SPEEDOMETER NotWorking. WaterTube Plugged

I have a 90 Honda the speed quit working I bought a new speed guage
and put in a new hose. The small hole on the foot is plugged somewhere between the hose fitting above the inlet. I have tried to rod them out from both ends but I hit something hard on both ends. The last thing I tried was to blow air from both ends. Has anybody ever had any problem like this.

the only other thing you could do would be to drop the lower unit and inspect the pickup from there...there is a nipple screwed into the top of the lower that unthreads - you could use a fine wire at that point and try and clear it
