90 Horse '86 Mercury Good deal or not

This may be bad protocol, but I need some advise. I found an '86 90 Horse Mercury with new (OEM) tilt and trim, new power pack, water pump, and carb. kits. The guy wants $2K, and is local, is that a good deal? I looked up the bluebook value and the average retail is $740. However, I'm not sure all that new stuff worth the difference? Can anyone help me?

Personally....unless it is hooked to a boat and trailer it is too high. Carb kits are about $20 bucks each, h2o pump is about $75 and if you are referring to an electronic power pack it is still not worth it. Keep shopping - save your money....just my advice. I think he is just looking to get premium $$$ due to the time of the year.<br /><br />Bob
