90 horse merc telltale concerns

i have a 1989 merc 90 horse on my pontoon. last year when i put it up for the winter i had a nice heavy telltale stream. when i started it up today for the first time this year, the stream is about a fourth of what it was last year.i am going to pull the lower and check the impeller as i have no idea how old it is. but i was kind of wondering should the telltale stream be cool or hot after the motor gets warm ?

nevermind, it was a quick fix. somehow when i put my cowling back on at the end of last summer, i pinched the telltale hose almost closed. i found it when i pulled the other half of my cowling off.
