90 HP.Evinrude Powerhead Gasket

I hooked the water hose to this Engine and it leak water right where the Powerhead bolts down.<br />I'm just wondering if this to big of a job to do at home? Please advise?

Hi,<br /><br />Everything is a big job when you do it the first time. But it will save you money and you will learn something new. <br /><br />I don't think that the leak is nothing to worry about. There where another similar post somewhere here on iBoats. <br /><br />If you are going to fix the leak you will have to lift the powerhead off and change the gasket. Buy a manual and it will be easier. A digital camera is nice to have when taking engine apart. <br /><br />Measure the compression in the engine before you take it apart. Take the cylinder heads also off and check the condition of the cylinders. <br /><br />Do all the neccessary service at the same time when you have the powerhead off. <br /><br />Take your time! <br /><br /><br />Robbi
