I have a 1991 merc 90 hp on my pontoon boat, the trim motor quit so i tore it down and found that it is getting TT oil into it, is there a replaceable seal or o-ring somewhere that i can replace ? or what is the way to fix this problem. the system is not too full of oil.

oil in motor softens brushes and brush card. You should just get a new motor so that you don't have to keep fixing the same thing over and over.

Generally speaking the best thing to do is wait for the off season when Chinese importers have excess inventory. Chinese are making disposable motors for under $200 to fit most mercs. From what I have seen the US stuff is much better made. For example I have seen some chinese motors where the brush card has warped from heat. Most of them have untreated through bolts and plain steel sealing washers. I find it doubtful that the Chinese motors will last much past 5 years. However, when their wharehouses are overstocked then they will try to flood the market with cheap prices and drive down price of US made motors. During the off-season you can go to amzon or some some other shopping bazzar and get both quality and price. For now, in August, you would pretty much have to pick one or the other.
