You would think it would be leaking from the fill cap but its not. It doesn't leak at all when down, just when the motor is up.
doesn't mater how much oil is in the oil tank either. About a cup a day if left up. Must be a connection some where but why would it leak only when up? Thanks

Have you cleaned it up, and watched it for awhile with the hood off? Sometimes it takes awhile for a leak to show up, so have an "iced tea" and spend an afternoon looking it over.
A couple pics help, after 3 posts you can do pics.
And model, serial numbers help us a lot also.
Welcome aboard!

Is this a 3 cyl.carb model?.Did the reclaim line come off of the airbox ? Normal for carbs to leak when the motor is tilted up. Could be a bad gasket or missing hose. When the carbs leak the gas evaporates and only the oil is left.

Believe me' it leaks plenty fast enough to see as soon as you tilt it up. Only leaks when not running, Can't tell where it's coming from. just dripping into the well of the boat. It is a 97 3cyl carb model, no smell of gas. Thanks
