90 v-4 timer base stiff

i have a 86 v-4 90 hp eng it seems like the timer base on it has gotten real tight on it i cant barley move it buy hand causing it hard to use the controls, would like to no if this is something i can fix, i am going to remove the flywheel and see what is going on under there has anyone seen this before.

The timer base turns in a delrin ring. Remove the timer base, and ring, clean with solvent. Use the white moly lube, and work the base back, and forth before putting everything back.

I forgot to add, use loc-tite screw loc on the stator screws when installing.
