been wiring up my boat the past two weeks and got the water temp gauge and tachometer wired up last night.

I had it running and it was idling at almost 2,000rpm and the water temp got up to around 180*F.

I'm pretty sure the idle is off (probably need to just switch the dipswitches on the reverse side) but I have no clue on the operating temp...I just want to make sure what it should be at idle so I dont accidently overheat the engine or anything.

engine is a 1990 M90 90hp oil injected 2-stroke by the way.

180 doesn't sound too bad, I have a 75 2 stroke and the water comming out is hot enough it is uncomfortable to hold my hand under it. As long as a good stream of water is comming from the motor you are ok.
