Hi, my friend has a mariner 90hp 6 cylinder which has fuel leaking out of carbies 2 and 3 when primed, I am used to the old Chrysler carbies so I am not sure if he has a float problem or needle and seat problem as the primer will not get hard, he also has an issue with cdi #1 as it isn't sparking on 1,3 and 5.
Firstly, are the floats adjustable or am I looking more at a needle seat issue, secondly if cylinders 1,3 and 5 are not sparking is it the cdi or possibly what triggers it?
Apologise for my ignorance, I have only worked on my old girl Chryslers, which I might add are a dream to work on compared to this mariner.

Mick, The floats are adjustable. I would recommend the carbs be removed, cleaned and rebuilt with new gaskets, inlet needles and seats and floats. You will need to remove the cowling support (3 nuts, 1 wire and 6 bolts) and the starter (2 bolts and a wire) to get to the carbs easily. Remove the three carb covers as an assembly. The CDIElectronics web site has a troubleshooting procedure for the ignition. It sounds like he has ADI ignition. Run that troubleshooting test.
