Re: 90hp force wont stay running when motor trimmed all the way up??

I am definately not an expert, I am actually a newbie.... but here is my 2 cents worth..

I have an 86 Force 125 - If I trimmed it up high enough that gas dripped out of the carbs I can image two things would happen,
1 - Gravity would starve the engine and it would stall
2 - My engine would be completely out of the water

I cannot imagine either of our engines running very long or well under these conditions, but stalling when at this angle seems completely normal to me. Just my $.02 worth and may be completely wrong... I look forward to hearing from the experts!

If you mean trimmed high enough to lift the prop out of the water, you're fortunate it dies. Otherwise you'd cook the engine from lack of water. I'm beginning to sense a troll anyway.

Are we talking Trim or Tilt? Trim controls will not lift prop out of water, Tilt will. Trim is to control the bow when planing, tilt is to lift the prop out of the water when recovering especially in shallow waters and when trailering. And yes, when you tilt all the way up, fuel mix will puke out of the carbs. Which means to say if the engine is running, it'll die due to lack of fuel.

Sounds like your pinching a line some where.Or the inline connector is leaking at that angle.
Any old inline connectors can leak and suck air.J

I have a 75hp 1999 force made by merc and the manual says there is a safety that when the motor is tilted out of the water the motor automaticly shuts down to prevent damage. I have never attempted to start the motor with the motor tilted up though. I will say as soon as my prop is under it will run.
