I have a 2000 90hp Johnson V4 that I bought used a few months ago. In the past (on other OB engines), I have disconnected the fuel line from the engine and let the engine run itself out of gas before trailering. With this Johnson 90hp, the fuel lines run into a rubber boot before going into the engine making it difficult to disconnect so I just leave it connected. I crank it with the water ears on about once a week. Is this as good as disconnecting the fuel line from the engine? Also, how do you know when it needs to be decarbonized and what is the best method for doing this? Thank you!!!!
