90psi compression too low?

1996 johnson 6hp both cylinders are about the same. My 115hp has 128psi on same gauge. I have this thing almost totally apart and wonder if I should replace the rings while I am in there.<br />Any insite would be very helpful. Thanks.

well having about the same compression on both cylinders is a GOOD thing. you would probably get different readings with different brands of gauges. that's pretty acceptable compression from what I've read. if you have your doubts squirt a little oil through spark plugs holes and try again to see what you get.

On those small engines, if it will easily start then you have enough compression.
