We got this boat after her father passed away it was sitting outside for 4 years uncovered but atleast the drain plug was left out.I was told it is most likely water logged and the foam would need to be replaced. She is a little stern heavy cause of the I/O drive and engine.I also noticed that the transom wood inbetween the fiberglass was wet around the thru hull drains.Wood wasn't rooted just wet.So what is the best way to replace the transom wood and foam in a boat that looks like it was built then fiberglass was sprayed on?

Don't rely on what someone "tells" you unless you are sure that the person knows what they are talking about or you check and confirm yourself. As to what to do - - - spend a couple of hours reading what has already been posted. It is all here. Then pop back with questions for what you don't understand. Lots of help is available but you have to do some reading yourself.

Well it's a 1991 sea-pro centra 190 dual console.3.0 liter mercruiser with a alpha 1 gen II sterndrive.I'm still trying to find a place to weigh the boat. One site said it weighed 1700lbs another site said 2500lbs.When i was looking for a trailer for it 3 dealers said it weighed around 3200 lbs without fuel, gear or people.it has a self bailing cockpit. The drains for the deck exit thru the transom and about 2 inches below the water line. So needless to say when going in reverse i get alot of water in the boat till i go forward. If i step to the rear of the boat it really goes down in the water even more. This is are first boat.So we still have alot to learn yet.I can't trim out when at plane cause the bow starts to rise right away. The local boat dealer said that was a sign of it being water logged in the rear.
