Re: '91 bayliner missing something

No I did a search for people selling parts off of any bayliner capri 90 to 94 which are the years I believe that they sold this vent cover. Most of them were parting out boats that they had bought for this purpose. Took me a few weeks to find somone that had one left but it finally worked out.

Re: '91 bayliner missing something

Well, I found the vents! Ive been searching sites like sitemash, which includes all of craigslist and others for just "bayliner" and sometimes it'd turn up boats people were parting off or whatnot. I had also been checking out ebay, with a bookmark that was set to show all items with "bayliner" in the title or item description, set to show newly listed items at the top.

I was checking the ebay link last night, and a guy I've ordered from before listed one vent for sale, $35 plus $5 shipping. A little expensive, but Ive been looking for it for a while, and wanted it done with. So I bought it, then emailed him and asked him if he had another. This morning I got an email back, and he told me that he did, and listed it on ebay, and sent me an email with the link to the auction. I bought it immediately, so sometime next week or so I should have the two vents I need :) A long search, but I think it'll have been worth it. I might try to reinforce the vents too, by filling them with epoxy or something, since they seem to break quite often, and I dont want to go through this again.

That is sweet. The one I got was gray so I painted it black and then pulled the one I had that wasn't broken and painted it the same black. It looks sweet now. I am much more carefull when tying up to the dock now knowing how difficult it is to find these vents.:D

Yeah, the same thing is going through my head, the vents need to be painted, and Ill either paint them a gray color to match the boat (they're pretty gray now as it is) or Ill paint them black. I wish I knew a way to make these vents somehow, they seem to be in very high demand.

No, I dont :) Not yet. My boat is in storage, so I cant get to it to put them on. You can be sure Ill upload a pic when Ive got some of the new updates on the boat! I got some new seats ive got to put in, new speakers, took the antenna off, and bought a bow cover/convertible top for it. Its gonna be pretty sweet when everything is on it!

Where did you find the convertable to for yours or did you have the original poles still. I am looking at having to make the poles for mine.

I bought it new, a couple months ago. There's a lady that has the original designs straight from bayliner, and she sometimes has sales. Her website is Letastopshop.com. I paid $400 for the canvas and poles for the convertible top, which came with hardware to custom do the snaps, and I also bought a bow cover for $100. If I were you, Id check on ebay, and when someone sells a part for your boat, check with them to see if they're parting out the boat. If they are, they might have a used top that came with the boat, and you might get it cheap. Otherwise, that site up there will either sell ones she has made cheap, or make you a new set for a bit more. She could have done a full cover for mine, which would have had the windows and slant back, for another $500 I think. Too much for now, but yeah.
