My manual says to adjust the idle while in gear on the water. There is no way I can get to the motor on my 24' Party Barge Pontoon. Any tips, tricks or suggestions on a good way to do it on the muffs? She's idling at about 800 RPMs and wants to die when I put it in gear. I want to bump it up to 1000 RPMs or so. Anyone know what the recmmended idle should be?

Thanks

If it's dying at 800 in gear, there are other problems. 1000 is too high...Should be 650-700 RPM's.in gear on the water...

Thanks for the info. Could this have anything to do with the spark advance linkage? I noticed the other day prior to the last trip to the lake that the spark advance linkage and come undone. The wheel nut had fallen down in to the bottom of the housing. I have no idea how long it had been this way. I put it back together using my other motor's setup as a guide. I don't have a test wheel or a water tank to setup per the last parts of link/sync.
