What causes the plugs to foul bad in this motor. Plugs are wet with gas and got
so bad would not plane boat. Took off air silencer and all on every one of the black
plastic carbs gas is evident. Also looks like bowls may be a little warped. Would this cause it to load up. Ive got new timer , power pack, and coils, wires. Could a stator be doing this or wrong timing. Help!!!!!!!!!!1

Warped carb bowls, the screws are way too tight and distorting the bowls.

Sounds like lots of new parts, have you spark tested it?
You gave nowhere near enough information to get an idea of whats going on.
Whats the history?
Do you have the service manual?

Motor had no spark, replaced timer base due to inaccurate ohms and dva output only on three leads, also replaced power pack smelled burnt. Stator had a mild drip but not completely melted, it tests dva and ohms right. Rebuilt the carbs and put on 2 new coils that still wouldnt fire. Put new plug wires prestolite , plugs the champion QL78yc. Boat has a little high idle about 1100 or so in neutral in water and then when put in gear eventually settles off to 650 to 750 and seems too low. Boat ran like a bat out of hell three or four days at the lake. Eventually started loading up like but would clear out. Got to the point wouldnt plane and had bad rough idle wont get past 2000 rpm or so. I thought it was in SLOW so i unhooked thermostats and traced brown wire and unhooked at powerpack to make sure it aint grounded. NO change. Plugs are fouled with carbon and raw gas and carbs have gas on all seams and in round part you look into. Boat cranks and idles every single time on cue very, very easy. WHAT do you think!!!!

Plugs are wrong, should be QL77JC4's and engine running to cool will also effect plugs. With the engine fully trimmed under, remove the airbox and look in carb throats to see if fuel is spilling into throats when you hold pressure on the primer bulb. If so check your float level along with bowl warpage, as this can cause air leaks(warped bowl0 and flooding.

I have bowl warpage and fuel leaking from the carbs. The marina told me to use the ql78yc plugs I guess i will try the ql77jc4 i ran them in my 90 150gt and got good results. I do have gas in the throats of carbs. I set the floats parrallel or level to the carb bodys , is this the correct height for the floats.
