My boat has sat in the backyard for about three years, unused. We decided we wanted to get it back on the water this year. I knew I needed carpet and seats, but didn't expect to find a rotted spot in the floor.
I have never been afraid to tackle a project around the house, but this makes me nervous!
This first pic is of the area, that was rotted, after I tore into it a little. Just to the right of that, the floor also flexes.

I went ahead and cut a section of the flooring out. Here are a couple of those.

What is the metal plate under there?
I know some of the foam is wet, I stuck a screwdriver in it and you could see the moisture on it.
Where in the world do I go from here??
Also, I won't do anymore work until I get a painter's suit or something to keep the fiberglass off my arms!
