Time to take the plunge. What started as a leak in the exhaust Y has now turned into a major rebuild. Both engines are out along with the outdrives. My plan is to remove all the rotten wood and reglass. After removing the gas tank, I want to support the boat with slings and then paint the hull. Here are a few pics I will have more soon.

Re: 91 Wellcraft 2600 Rebuild

As you can see the rot has traveled quite far. Does anybody know how the floor is attatched . I can tell there will be a lot of cutting with a side grinder I suppose ANY suggestions would be great at this point as Im getting a good idea about the size of this job! The first pic is looking up at the transom where I finally have solid wood

Re: 91 Wellcraft 2600 Rebuild

I will be taking all of the rub railing and taking the screws out tonight that secure the cap. This weekend I will start sorting out the electrical wiring nightmare carefully labeling and taking pics of anything interestin. I was looking up under the floor and I dont see any fasteners that secure the stringers with the floor, is the floor held by fiberglass? What is the best way in seperating the floor from stringers on a boat this size? Thanks for the help

Are you going to have to re-core the stringer system completely?

Re: 91 Wellcraft 2600 Rebuild

It kinda looks that way. Basically 1/2 of the transom and the stringers all the way to the forward bulkhead including the aft bulkhead which can be seen in the pics and the forward bulkhead about 6" up. Im labeling and mapping out electrical system this weekend, but did pull out the fresh water storage tank and the waste water storage tank this evening. I got to tell yall that without this forum I would've never had the confidence to take this on and now my boat story will hopefully be an inspiration to someone else. Many thanks

Re: 91 Wellcraft 2600 Rebuild

It was my plan to attack the electric system but after 30 mins of complete frustration, I decided to spend my time doing work outdoors. I seem to have wires that were cut at the fuse panel as well as long lengths that are coiled up and don't go anywhere.

Re: 91 Wellcraft 2600 Rebuild

PLEASE HELP!!!!! I am so frustrated with this pieced together electrical system. Does anyone know where I can get an electrical Blueprint of a 1991 Wellcraft 2600 Coastal with twin engines. Do I need to be on the electrical forum,or bug the manufacturer it is a mess! I want to just strip everything out and buy new wire, busses, breakers and start from scratch. Now I understand why my batteries would always run down.
