92/120hp force/cut in rubber hose that goes into lower unit from side of boat

Guys have 92/120 force, have a manual but couldn't find anything on this, first my speedometer is broke, doesn't even move, not a big deal but there's a black rubber hose, very small that runs from the side of the boat where the cables come from to directly to the lower unit, it is torn open in 2 places and water is coming out, the lower RPM'S the less water, running flat out it flows like I'm pumping gas, any ideas and can I just cut the bad part out and put some new hoses in with hose connectors and fasteners.

Seems to me your looking at the speedometer pickup tube.<br />You should be able to splice togeather that tube and your speedo should work.<br />You might want to investigate if you can replace the entire tube easily.<br /><br />Mike
