I have a 1992 200hp 2 stroke yamaha outboard and the over heating sensor keeps going off even as soon as I turn the key even when its been sitting for a month. So is the sensor bad and is this an inexpensive fix.

Are you sure it is the overheat alarm or could it be oil level?

Temp switch can be pulled and tested to see if it is operating within the specs

Its a 2stroke it is oil injected but the oil tank has no sensor.
