It's been a rough summer with my engine. 400 hours on the motor. Ethanol did a job on my carbs. I just rebuilt them. I had a lot of mid-range hesitation. A few of my slow jet orifices were clogged.
Here is my question - did the compression-cylinders 1 & 2 are 107. The rest are all 110. What I've read is that this is good compression. Is this correct? I looked inside the cylinders with a scope today. The walls all look good. There is carbon on top of the pistons. I tried decarb but it didn't take it off. Should I consider taking the heads off and cleaning it?
Also my shift rod is in good shape. I've been pricing new engines and would really like to keep this one.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 92 225 Yamaha-Help

Yes, 400 hours. I have a meter on it. I bought it new back in 1993. All I do is run out the inlet, hook into a wreck then come back in and lay on the beach the rest of the time. that's why I hate to spend $15K on a new one when I think this one has plenty of life left. I'm looking for opinions that will help me with that
thanks
