hi i was wondering if this outboard is worth 750 dollars needing a rebuild? as stated above it's a 92 70 hp force. it is needing #1 piston replacement but what i've noticed on 2 strokes is there is no such thing as replacing 1 piston/cylinder without big future problems. also wondering what fuel/oil ratio for a 76 chrysler would be. 40 or 50 to 1? thanks for any advice in advance.

$750, no.
You still have no guaranty that the ignition system is functional.
$450 maybe.

If the cylinder does not need to be bored more than .010 , you should be able to replace just one piston without problems.

If you do the work yourself, you can have the cylinder bored and replace the one piston for less than 300 bucks. However, there is no guarantee that only one piston needs replacement. That is, all three do not necessarily need to be replaced, but can you rely on the sellers assessment of engine condition?

I agree with Roscoe to a degree: In my opinion, and my situation, if I were looking at the engine, in non-running condition, It would only be worth junk to me. So, on the strength of the lower unit and other parts I could salvage, if the engine was cosmetically in good condition, I would offer maybe as high as 350-- if power tilt worked. without power tilt, only 250-275. But I have 15-20 engines in my garage. (some in parts)

If you need an engine, unless you really want to do the work and enjoy it, and unless you get a really good deal, walk away. You would be better spending the money on a running engine. At least that way, you could use it almost immediately. personally, I have nothing against the engine but if your boat has the capacity, the 85 or 90 three cylinder Force is a better engine choice.

Ultimately though, price is driven by demand and it is your decision as to how badly you want the engine.
