This J10Rena model won't get a 14' aluminum fishing boat on plane like it used to. I put a new carb kit in, and checked the fuel pump. The diaphragms looked ok. At full throttle it reallys gags up until backed off a bit.

I put sea foam in and ran it hoping to loosen any dirt in the carb but no go.

Guess I'll try cleaning it again. Any other suggestions?

One thing that make me wonder is if it makes any difference how the back of the fuel pump goes back on. Couldn't remember. The directions are't specific. I'm not too crazy about that rubber tube inside the carb since it might get kinked, but it must be alright.

Thanks.

Have you checked the compression recently?

Update:

Sorry, but I didn't put a new fuel pump in, I just inspected, and cleaned the old one. Thought it looked ok. I re-edited original post.

I changed plugs. One had some oily carbon on it, more than normal. This motor shouldn't have many hours on it so I don't think compression would be a problem.

I'll check the plugs again since I ran it yesterday.
