92 mercury 40hp power trim seal kit

i have a 92 mercury 40hp which is leaking out of the top of the trim piston. I cannot find a seal kit anywhere, the OEM parts catalog will only list a 400$ piston kit. The fluid appears to be leaking out of the screw cap at the top of the ram assembly. The two holes of the screw cap itself appear to have be worn pretty good by someone trying to get the cap off in the past, and fluid looks like it is coming out of the holes. I am hoping to replace it if possible as well.

Don't know which 40hp but the serial number would help.

Found an O-ring kit 25-827668A1 but it may not be for your 40

The serial number is 0D106153. Thanks for the reply, I'm dreading spending hundreds of dollars on 3 o-rings!

It amazing what you can find with a serial number. The kit shows up as 813432A3 and appears to be around $30
