'93 120 Force Tach suddenly reads higher..

at about 2000 rpm, suddenly the tach jumps to 4000....or at about 1500, the tach will jump to around 2500....but the motor rpms do not change

when it does this, I press the tilt switch and it goes back to normal...in a minute or two it does the same thing...

makes me think that the voltage draw from the tilt re sets it...???

Any Ideas?
