New gas, carbs clean, de-carbed, compression ok,proper new plugs, no fuel air leaks. Intermittent starting problem when warm, eventually starts with the lubed type starting fluid. Could it be the power packs? Do they begin to show weakness when warmed? stumped!

hello<br /> does this motor have quick start? if it does it will have a yellow/red wire from the pack to the s terminal on the starter solinoid. if it has this wire remove it from the solinoid and retest. I cant remember the exact year this setup came out but I have had several pack failures only when warm that turned out to be the quickstart function in the pack.try testing the spark after a warm shut down. usually takes 10 -20 min to get spark back if its the quick start failure.

Hello, and thanks, I'll give it a try when I get back to the lake (this motor is on a houseboat). Also, if the pack is bad, will it have a spark at all when warm, or simply a weak one? Bob
