So I recently had some damage to my boat when I hit a submerged object on the Potomac River near DC. (Didn't see it coming... I was in the channel!). I tore the outdrive off and have some fiberglass damage. Anyway, my insurance company declared it a totally loss. They paid out and its not going to cover the cost of the repair. I'm still looking at options but does anyone know someone in Washington, DC area that salvages boats for parts? Everything else on the boat is in great working order including the most of the detached outdrive and the Volvo penta engine. The engine didn?t even stop running when the outdrive was taken off. Water heater, head, fridge, stove all in great condition.

I still may repair it but I just want to see what my options are.

Thanks in advance,
John

You could probably repair it your self and save a lot, depending on your skills, what exactly was broken, damaged, what exactly it was (like engine make model year, drive model, etc.) and how much the payout was.
