Hello

I currenty own a 07 BAYLINER 185 but as of this morning I bought a 93 Ciera 2755 cruser.

I have never owned a cruser before but this will be my 5th boat. I have owned a few open bow's and now I want something bigger.

I would like any info pros and cons on this model and some insite from other owners of this boat or simmalar is welcome.

I guess, I will put my new 185 up for sale since I dont want to own 2 boats allthough it could be fun right?

Oh, and can a Dodge Ram 1500 pull a 2755 without too much trouble?

What do you think the value is of this boat? not going into crazy details but a basic value?

Thanks AZ lakes
BAYLINER 27.jpg
Hers the pic

The boat is up at lake Powell so I plan on going up mid week / weekend and picking it up. I will keep it at Lake pleasant marina. It will be easy to launch and retreive since I only have to tow it from the storage lot to the boat ramp...Problably the dreaded South ramp with the 1 mile walk lol....But what the hell right?

I know it wont do 55 like my 185 but thats cool im really not into top speed. I like crusing and if the 2755 does at least 40 to 45 I can be happy :)

I now have to sell my brand new 185 since I wont really use it much now with the big boat comming. I have my 185 dialed in with a lot of cool bonus features so Im hoping that will make it sell faster.

The 2755's power plant is a 300 Hp Mercruser that I can only assume has a Bravo 3 Stern Drive w/ dual props.

I know these boats are a differant breed but Im hoping the handeling is at least as ood as my open bow but Im hoping its not going to feel like "a lot of boat to handle"

I have gone on the water alot by myself and im sure I will still be able to do that but I know the launch / retreival will be a tad more work. Im already devising my docking technique for this beast. Im thinking either back up to the dock so I tie the aft cleat then grab my bow line and pull the bow over to the dock and tie off or heading to the dock at a more parellel angle and tieing the aft cheat then grabbing my bow line and pullin gthe bow over to the dock to tie off.

We'll see how easy that really is in real life ;) I dont want to have to relie on a 2d person if I really want to take the boat out and no one wants to go....I may have to start hanging out at Pleasant Harbor bar / Grill right there at the marina and look for a hottie to help me out wit that .....;)

I don't know much about that particular model or year but I own an '85 Ciera 2150. I can tell you that the Ciera cruiser models are great. They handle real well. You will feel more bow wander with a boat of this size vs. your 185 but it only takes a little bit to adjust your steering strategy for it.

Docking my Ciera, to tell you the truth, is a thousand times easier to do then the bayliner capri 1950 I used to own. And if you have dual props then I've heard it's even more of a breeze to dock.

When I bought it I wasn't too sure I would use a full cabin because I wasn't planning on doing much overnights on it, but for the deal I got I couldn't pass it up. It didn't take long before I really liked having the room below (and your female passengers will love having a full head)

Hope my info helps a little even though it isn't year or model specific.

Re: 93 Ciera 2755 Cruser......Any owners or comments on this model

Thanks for the responce. Noodlestsc thats what I wanted to hear.

Its a single engine 300 HP Merc with problably a Bravo I. Im going up to Page early tomarorw morning and hopfully I will be crusing home with it tomarrow night. I may need to stop and sleep in the boat if Im too tired and its too late to make it all the way back but i think i can do it no problem if I can get my ***** out of here early enough. I blew off my work load till next week.

I plan on doing a seasonal service on it before I even take it out the 1st time since I dont know when it was done last and want to fill all the lubes with synthethic lube!

I read the manual on a differant model and it talked about the bow stear issue with bigger boats and I was crusing behind a Chapperal 27 footer last week at a smaller lake. It was the guys maiden voyage as well and I saw the boat bow stearing and the owner doing a lot of stearing correcting. If thats the worst of owning a larger boat so be it. Im also not worried about it not topping out around where my 185 does as I feel this boat is meant to been seen, not seen flying throught the water ;)

The 93's do have power stearing right? Id hate to be giving that up.

The boat is named DREAMCATCHER but I was just on the phone with my friend and short of calling it PANTY DROPPER I think it may wind up getting called WET SPOT.....I guess I should wait and find out lol.....

Yes I also saw more pics tonight and it does have a head complete with sink. DAMN thats crazy!

So My quesiton is then where do you go topump out the %^$* in the holding tank? Do most marinas have service areas for that?

I think this boat is going to be a lot of fun to have. My friend is all ready like "Dude i cant beleive your getting something that big" and my fishing buddy is pissed the boat is so big because he thinks we wont be able to fish as good/bad as weve been on my 18 footer. His comment this afternoon was "WOW, thats a big f^%in boat"

Maby thats what I should call it " BIG F$#kin BOAT "

Ill let you fellas know whats what if I get back early enough tomarrow and not too wore out from the drive.......My neighbors are gonna love me when they see it in the street in front of my town house LOL.

AZLAKES if you ever see me out on Pleasant stop by so we can talk about how bad we are doing fishing but if you have a boat load of big bass the price of admission will be a measly 3 pounder :D

... watch the forecast for strong winds up North! Check them trailer brakes and tires. The winds can be a real danger between Page and Flagstaff. Been in some gusts that are just tail waggers. As for the dumping of the waste tanks, if they are setup like RV's there are dump stations that you can pull up to. You'll need dump hoses and usually pay a fee of about $5. You'll probably have a grey water and a black water tank if the setups are similar. In an RV you pull release valves dumping black water(waste) first then grey water(sink) to flush the lines. Close the valves, put in a chemical agent to your empty waste tank along with some water and your set.
I'll look for the WetSpot on the lake sometime and offer you up some fresh fish. May be store bought incase the Bass aren't jumping in the boat that day :)

Good luck with that load...

AZLAKE

Im going to keep it called the DREAMCATCHER for a while I think. It looks really good so for now I think Ill just leave it alone as its true its a dream to own a Cuser this crazy big.

The boats sitting in front of my town house and it looks crazy. I cant wait to put it in the water and get a feel for her.

YES it did some tail wagging on the way back MAN what a long drive. I left last night at 3 am go to powell at 7 30. Left w/ boat around noon and the drive was an interestign one. Im not sure I would want to trailer this beast over a ong trip like that again. It wasnt bad but not a usual trailer pull trip Im used to.

The boat has a 7.4 Mercriser motor with 4 deep cycle batteries. This boat has like every option you can think of. Its gonna be a lot of fun I think!

It has a fish finder so maby Ill start to actually catch fish LOL...
look for me out there and swing yor capri by...

Good to hear you got that yatch back to town in one piece! So the truck pulled her no problem eh? You had one big climb just passed Camp Verde. How did you do? 35 mph in 2nd? Bet its gunna be a thrill on that first voyage. When is that planned for? I am surprised you did not hit Powell being you were there already, its one of the finest lakes in the southwest. I'll be headed to the Imperial Sand Dunes Halloween(dune season starts!) So I'll try and get on the water sometime after the first week in Nov.

Good luck!

Re: 93 Ciera 2755 Cruser......Any owners or comments on this model

Yea I wanted to go on the water but after 6 hours drving up and trying to get back with enough time to spare I passed on the water test run to save it for a lake im more familure with. Plus I didnt want to get sucked in to the lake powell thing and wind up havin to spend all my weekends up in Page LOL...

I need to get this beast cleand up today It was a little too dirty and grubby for my tastes but I tell you what it cleand up nicely. Looks all nice and shiny and I have SHORE power from my house feeding it right now. works GREAT.

I am having a trim gauge issue as its really not working. There is power and the wiring it correct, I suspect the senders are shot. I will be heckign them tomarrow. Might just need to be re calibrated. Ill have to see worse case new senders.

The boat has some amasign features. I so amased at how much this boat and the BIG bayliner boats offer its just amasing.

sea water pump for washing down.
Drinking fountain / mini sink
deck drains ( COOL )
shower in Head and swin deck
Hot water heater

MUCH MUCH MORE Im wore out my brain needs sleep LOL.

My brother is going to the DUNES ( GLAMIS ) with his new 2 seater sand rail. Him and Girl Friend have been tryign to get me to go but its REALLY not my thing. I know there are a lot of hotties I keep hearing about, but if Im gonna find a single lil hottie it will have to be with this boat

My Brothers rail is YELLOW and he has a Maroon red Hummer 2 so if you see a guy with an asian chick in a yellow 2 seater rail its him. I think hes got #73 on the rail.

OK now for a search for trim gauge wiring and Im going to pass out.

PS it took all day to wash and dry this beast and its not completly done yet

After I meet the harbor master ( marina guy ) at Pleasant tomarrow Ill be back at the house completing what I want to get done before I trailer it to pleasant. Im actually thinking Saturday afternoon its going in the water for my 1st lesson in BIG A$% boats!

Oh yea, AZLAKES the camp verde drive thing S U C K E D !!!!!!! :(

I thought I blew up my truck as it seemd to be downhill but relaly isnt.....I could only do like 25 maby 30 and in 1st /2nd gear and reving to around 3 grand 3500 and temp gauge going up past 200 deg.

I was like S&*IT I blew my trannie and I can only go 25 mph the rest of the way home S O B! but then I noticed trucks not going much faster then me and thinking hmmmm ? Maby Ill be ok just do what I gotta do.

Then eventually I staerted pickign up speed and the trannie shifted and I was fine. I was worried there for a few minutes as to WTF wa going on..Th road seems to be goign down hillbut your really not going down hill.

I dont really want to pull that thing that far ever again. But a Havasu trip I hear for single guys with boats like this, hell any boat for that matter is WELL worth the hassel:cool:

I ALSO found out the "party cove" at Pleasant is just as exciting in the summer. As a Marina Member I will surely find out how crazy it gets as Im planning to get in on that action soon!

... ya Havasu I hear rocks. We just cancelled a trip due to this dang ameba brain eating thing in the water. We had cheap $69 rates at the Nautical Inn too. Once the water cools (someday) which kills the virus, we will re-book the trip. Whats this "party cove" at Pleasant you speak of? That all the way to the back of the first right you can make just past poopers cove? And whats the Marina Member about? I was thinking with that size boat you have, you should look into the new Marina Scorpion Bay they are now building. You might get a sweet deal on a water slip if you purchase way in advance. Well hope your maiden voyage today was all good...

Re: 93 Ciera 2755 Cruser......Any owners or comments on this model

Didnt get i tin the water just yet.

Almost everything I want to get doen is done and now just cosmetic stull left and should be done tomarrow.
Yea, I was thinkign about S Bay marina and Im onl on a month to month at Pleasant Harbor just for that reason. If S. Bay turns out to be a better marina with more perks that Im all for it. At least I can cruse over to that place from Pleasnt Harbor.

One of the Bennies of being a marina member is FREE MAMMOSA BREAKFASTs in the summer at the bar and grill...I think ill be doing a lot of over night fishing next year!

Private DOCK to launch and retreive boats.
They also offer launch and retrieval services for 26.00 each way if you want to call ahead and have the boat sitting at the dock and be ready for you when you get there. Not sure ill use that all that much if at all.

Channel 16 on the radio ( CB ) is to be used to hail other boats, not sure if you have a radio I can hail you to see if your out there lol....They want users to hail on 16 then move to free station to talk. I though t16 was an international channel set aside for emergency use?

They do a lot of member nights at the bar and grill so members with boats can meet and get to know eachother.

The PARTY COVE is HUMBUG COVE and Ive bene told it goes off in the summer. Basicly they told me it gets crowded with over a hundred boats and is like HAVASUE here in phx :) There is a pic in Pleasants marina magazine Its jamed with hot chicks looking for guys with boats.....maby ill have a few new girl friends by next year that would be cool. LOL

I hear 4th of JULY is CRAZY out on Pleasant. Tehy say if you want an over night slip its best to reserve at leats 1 week in advance....Marina members can get over night slips for use if we ( me ) dont pay for private slip storage. Its like 30 bucks or something like that.

I will problably be on the lake for sure next Friday or Saturday. Will keep you posted.

Off to bed I go ( not on the boat yet ) Im wore out from cleaning and organizing and rewiring the onboard charger...It was wired WRONG LOL. NOt any more. It actually charges two banks with no problem now and after playing Robin Hood and stealing my batteries off my 185 because the bank 2 batteries were shot all works well. I will have to replace the 185 batteries one of these days before it sells though.

AZLAKES if you go to pleasnat this week and drive down pleasant BLVD to the end where the boat lot is you can see my 2755 in the corner up against the gate as you drive down. It looks cool and I wasnt even trying to find that spot lol....I should have it out possibly this week if not its going in the water FRIDAY NIGHT....

The guy at the port of enterance told me since its cooling off the fish are biting a lot better then they were a week ago and people are starting to report good night fishing again.....I think I may need to go try and now that I have a damn fish finder I will be able to see for myself.

Did you go to the dunes? How was that?

AZLAKES

I just moved it over to BODMAR's boat repair accross from the marina to get the Skeg fin repared. Its out front today but they say it will be in the lot by tonight and they will start work tomarrow.

Teh previous owner dinged up the skeg and thats one of my pet peaves to see it all beat to hell so I want to have it all fixed and paited. It will be ready by the end of the week and ready for FRIDAY !!!

Im also having the shif cables looked at as the throttle handle is a bit stiff and they tell me when the cables start to fray they get hard to move and Ill bet thats what it is. Id rathe rhave new cabels then get stuck because they snapped off LOL.. SO whatever it costs I need to do it and get it all perfect for safe operation.

If you go by today you may see it if not it will be back in a spot next to the gate on Pleasant Harbor Blvd. I think its less dusty in a back corner since the lot is all gravel.

Oh it already looks like pleasant is a but fuller then it was a week ago THANK GOD....I do like the ramp at the marina man, its like streight into the water no hill at all....doenst seem to be a lot of room to back off the trailer and swing the boat around though..Illl have to see how that goes at the end of the week.

Re: 93 Ciera 2755 Cruser......Any owners or comments on this model

Well, so far I aint catchin a damn thing on this boat :(
I even bought one of those cool green lights like everyone else has and givin up on my white lights....I only have 1 power socket and the green is less power draw and much brighter. I used to use two white lights on the 185 since it has dual 12 V outlets.
I have a friend that gave me some tips today as he says he ALWAYS catches the BIG BASS on pleasant with live chade ( shad )

I havent used them yet and I think thats why my fishing has slowed down.

On the other hand I did meet some nice people Sunday while puttign some oil in the 2755.... I noticed this HOT POA at the dock when I was backing in and when I docked she said BEAUTIFUL BOAT...all I saud was thanks....I think she was with mom and dad and I talked to her "dad" abotu bayliners. He loves them as much as I do and he seemed really cool I really wanted to talk to the " daughter" GOD SHE WAS FINE! So I can already see that I think I may wind up finally finding a hottie by summer. I HOPE SO. Sick of this single ****.

any way the boat is runnign great and I think I got the hang of it. Docking is really easy. Back in at an angle and grab my bow line and pull it over. The last 3 times docking the bow went right into place on its own so no need to pull bow by line SWEET.
I will problably go out again Saturday afternoon / night and be out / go out sunday morning, afternoon....LOT O HOTTIES on SUNDAY it seemed and I need to snag me one of them lol!!!!

Have you been back out there? and how is your fishing? Maby we can team up and try some techniques.....

good to hear the new boat is running great! i'm sure its a relief to have got a solid boat and deal. have not made it back to the lake yet. just got back from the dunes last week. that rocked and was a lot of fun. never been in a funco 5 sand rail before. those vette engines take no prisoners and carve the dunes like butter.
i got my fuel pump kit in this week and want to get that installed before heading back to pleasant. going to van halen next friday and the Cards/49ers sunday so prolly be after turkey day before hitting the water again. i was at bass pro today and thinking of a new "ugly stick" rod so i'll be eager to try it out if i go back to get it.

I have an UGLY STICK I bought at super wallmart w/ a shakespear reel

My father gave me his shakessper with a really nice shakesspear rod and its damn near the same rod as my ug stick.

BASS PRO is a great store but the prices on the fishing gear is OUTRAGEOUS compaired to a lot of the same **** at wallmart.......

I was a BASS PRO last week on a Saturday afternoon and I actually watched them feed the fish in the tank...WOW that is some amasing viewign when you see the BASS go for the live minows. I really need to try live bait as those BASS dont play games and swallow them in 1shot.

My friend was sayign that HUMBUG cove is a great fishing spot so I may go give it a try this weekend.

Are you thinkign of gettign a BAIT CASTER reel? I bought one and been trying to get better with it. I still cant cast it too far for the life of me but I think I finally got it figured out and not getting it to backlash any more.....I really want to catch a nice fish on that rod and see how the reel feels. Maby ill need a fighting chair on the new boat LOL......

.. naaw no bait caster for me, dont want to learn a new trick and my thumb is reserved for being up my nose rather than controlling some spooler thingy-ma-bob. As for buying from Bass Pro, Cabelas, Sportsmans, etc.. if I am not saving big money I dont mind giving them the coin. They really do a bang up job with the stores they build and cater to us outdoor lovers. I toss them business when I can. December weather should be in the 80's for us at the rate temps are going. Lets plan to get together then. I got another rod/reel to hold me thru even tho I broke my favorite rod by slamming the cargo door on it! Arg! I'll hail you on the Marine radio ch 09.
