I have a 1993 Ranger with a Mercury XR6 150hp. The boat came with a Hot Foot. I want to remove the Hot Foot and hook up the original controller. I need to find out how to disassemble the controller to hook up the throttle cable. Does anyone know what controller this is and where I might be able to get info on disassembly.

Faztbullet, the M2's that I've seen have a trailer button and 2 screws on the face of the shifter handle. Mine doesn't have either. We're there different versions of the M2?

Look for a slot on the base of the handle. To remove the handle on a lot of those shifters, you need to turn them until you expose a set screw, visible thru the slot on the base of the handle. My OMC handle needs to be full reverse to expose the set screw.

Other controls have a pop out throttle only button. That exposes a fastener.

Will this manual give me step by step instructions on how to remove and swap out the cables.
I'm not a mechanic, but I'm fairly handy. Do you think this is a job a non mechanic can do?

Yes step by step......Look in the rear and see if throttle cable is still there and just rolled up an was disconnected when hot foot was added. PIA to remove it just to add a foot..
