Heres my "scoop", Im a 21 year old bored civil engineering student, who has slaved at a marine repair shop for 5 years running. My whole life has always been outdoors in one way or another and basically always had to do with boating, and, well water. My parents have a nice boat (03 182 Chappy SS) and seadoo and so on. I have always wanted my own powerboat after going through my sailing phase (sunfish>laser>hobie 16>nacra 5.0). Just being a full time student didn't allow me to afford such pleasure. At work I was always rebuilding all these crappy auction boats that had rotted everything. It was fun work but I just started getting sick of making my boss so much money while getting paid peanuts. Just then this boat came in. A '93 Crownline 182 Closed Bow with a 5.0LX (4 barrel!!). So we got to talking and for all my "hard" work and a little bit I got to take home this super clean (showroom condition basically) Crownline.
So the deal with this boat is.... rotted motor mounts, stringers and floor. I had figured it would take me 2 weeks to finish it. Well somehow coming home from work, to continue working didnt really always sounds like a fun idea. All in all it took about 8 weeks to finish. Finishing up the day that I had planned to go back to school (close!!). Here are a couple pictures along the way and the rest can be seen at the link.
