First of all, these are 2 stroke engines and don't require an oil change of the engine (powehead) such as automobiles do. They do require oil to be mixed with the gasoline which serves to lubricate the engine and then goes out the exhaust. Additionally, the propeller gear box, similar to a manual automobile transmission, does have an oil bath and requires periodic change.
If you are new to the boat/engine combo, and don't know its history, there are a number of things you need to do before cranking it up. The water pump needs periodic replacement as do the plugs. Two stoke engines also need to be decarbonized periodically to keep their power at optimum.
The first thing you need to do is to purchase a Clymer manual for Force engines. They can be found on ebay or probably at Barnes and Noble. Don't by a SELOC manual and don't buy any of the disks that you see on ebay. They are not as good as the Clymer manual.
Next, you need to look at 1) the sticky note at the beginning of the Force engine forum to learn how to change your water pump 2) Your manual to learn how to change your gear box oil and 3) the FAQ at the beginning of the Iboats forum to learn how to decarbonize an engine.
You can also search the Force Forum for the specific info that you want. There are millions of bytes of good advice on this forum, you just need to take the time to read it.
If you take your time and prep your engine properly, being a Force, it will last almost forever. If you plan to do a hurry up job, you should buy Tow Boat insurance.
